Chapter 114 Class Point
[Congratulations! You have just risen to level 24!]
Kaizen listened as he completed a hundred Star Larvae culls. With his near perfect accuracy and stunning dexterity, none of these creatures were able to survive for more than 2 minutes after their spawn. It was amazing the way Psyker moved and shot at the same thing. The Light Lands in just under half an hour had an atmosphere filled with black particles produced by each slaughter.
However, killing so many monsters also tired Kaizen a bit, who still didn\'t have huge vitality attributes and also didn\'t have much mana, although he was with more than quadruple the mana than when he killed the Black Vultures in the Misty Woods, using the more tactical of guiding the arrow with <Telekinesis>.
"Haa... That was intense." Kaizen exasperated, a little breathless, then looked at Jayaa and inquired, "How many levels have you evolved?"
"Three levels... I reached level 25 in about a few minutes. I\'ve never seen that before..." The bard was still stunned, because normally he would need a whole day playing to get this same result.
"That\'s great! I\'m at level 24, close to going to 25, so you\'re still ahead of me. I thought farming areas wouldn\'t be as cool as exploring new areas with stronger monsters, but the creature spawn mechanics here are very useful."
"Isn\'t it? I knew you would like it. There are other farming areas around the Royal City, so if you want to try them out, we can go some other day."
"We\'ll see about that later. What do you think about trying to kill some Maggots now? If you really want to help me in the challenge against Taznaar, you won\'t be able to stay just supporting."
"You\'re right. By coincidence, I was saving some Class Points to unlock a new ability, and now that I\'ve earned a point for evolving to level 25, I can finally unlock it." said Jayaa, opening his system.
Kaizen arched his eyebrows, interested in the matter. "You earned a Class Point for evolving to level 25? Will I get one too?"
Immediately, the bard stopped what he was doing, approached Kaizen and holding his shoulders with his hands, questioned while looking into his eyes:
"Don\'t you know how to earn Class Points?"
"Actually, I wanted to play with you specifically to ask if you knew anything about it. I searched the webnet and found almost nothing about it. Users were saying in the forums that it\'s random."
"Ahha, I finally get to repay you for the help you gave me today." Jayaa stated, crossing her arms with a glorious expression. "I was already thinking that I would really have to make dinner tomorrow instead of you."
"..."
"Now is the moment you speak: oh, honorable Jayaa, teach me how to get Class Points?" the bard said, his eyes narrowed.
Kaizen turned his face to Jayaa, ignoring him as if he wasn\'t listening.
"That\'s fair... All right, I will tell you everything I know without you asking me, is that better for you?"
Kaizen looked at the bard again at that moment, which made the man in plain clothes smile enthusiastically.
"Pay attention, Class Points are indeed a bit random, and at the same time, they are not. \'How so?\' You ask me and I answer: it is very simple. There are prerequisites to have a chance to get a Class Point. The easiest to understand is that there are some predefined levels at which all players gain a Class Point. If I\'m not mistaken, these levels are: five, twenty-five, fifty, eighty, one hundred, and then they follow a thirty-three level scale."
"I don\'t remember for sure if I earned a Class Point at level three or if it was really at five. However, what about quests? Most of the ones I earned were definitely on missions."
"Regarding quests, that\'s the most random part, but the pattern I\'ve found so far is that hidden quests usually give Class Points more often than Adventurer\'s Association Quests, Guild Quests, History Quests and so on." Jayaa explained didactically and confidently. "The only exception I know of to that pattern are Class Quests, where you are pretty much guaranteed at least one Class Point at the end of the quest trail."
"In other words, those are final rewards." said Kaizen with his right hand on his chin, thinking about it. "They are even pretty simple patterns, why doesn\'t anyone talk about this kind of information on the webnet?"
"Man, Rise Online is a very new game and the biggest of all at the moment. The outlook is that the number of players will only increase in the coming months, and you should know what VRMMORPG players are like. They are all very tryharders and most who know this sort of thing do not want to disclose information to casual gamers because fortunes of money are involved in high-level. Those who would like to disclose this information are afraid of repression from the organizations involved."
"What about you? Which of the two is your reason for not disclosing it?"
"The first, in parts. I know that my class is not one of the best in the game and so I also know that if all players know this information, which cannot be found in quests or beginner manuals of the game, I will fall behind most newbies with Classes like swordsman, mage and among others."
"That\'s a fair point." Kaizen said, nodding with crossed arms.
After that brief conversation, Jayaa unlocked his new Class Skill and then tested it on the Star Larvae.
This skill was called <Musical Notes> and basically allowed him to summon notes from sheet music or original music to attack. Still, this was almost a support skill, because although it applied damage, Jayaa needed to be focused on a single target to hit the attacks.
Since the Star Larvae were slow, they had no chance against ranged attacks, so Jayaa managed to kill five of them before their mana ran out.
