Building a Gaming Empire From Scratch

Chapter 93 - 93: Shelf Testimonials

There’s no way to change destiny against heaven, so it’s still time to put it on the shelves.

New Author, first book, putting it on the shelves is like a bride’s first time in a sedan chair, so I might write a bit longer.

In case everyone gets bored with the reading, I’ll put the important words up front.

Thank you to all readers for your support. It is your support that has allowed me to write this book and have the confidence to continue writing.

I also hope that after putting it on the shelves, I can still get your support.

From free to charged, it is indeed a threshold. I sincerely hope that more people can stay and support the legitimate version.

But I am also aware that it is inevitable that some readers will turn to pirated versions. All I can say is, make a clean break.

I just hope that after reading the pirated version, you won’t come back and scold me. My heart is as small as Lincoln’s, and I’ll be unreasonable and delete it directly.

To readers who support subscriptions, I will work harder to write this story well to repay your support.

To show my sincerity, there will be 4 continuous updates tomorrow after it goes on shelves!

I also asked the editor, and the current paid membership data for this book is 230. It does look a bit pathetic, but for me, as a newbie’s first book, this data is an acceptable start.

After the average subscription reaches 100, I’ll add another chapter. After that, every additional 50 subscribers, I’ll add another chapter!

Speaking of which, I won’t have to add more chapters, will I? That would be too embarrassing…

If that happens, I’ll just delete this paragraph.

As for rewards and such, you don’t need to spend any money. If you’re willing to subscribe and support, I’m already very grateful.

Oh yes, don’t forget, the shelves will be going up at 12 noon. The update time will also be delayed to 12 0’clock, with four chapters in a row.

After Friday, the update time will be stable at one chapter every morning at 8 o’clock, and one chapter every night at 6 0’clock.

Now that the important words are out of the way, I can relax and talk about the writing process of this book so far and the future plans.

Birthing this book was indeed difficult. Last November, I had the idea of writing a novel, created an outline, and wrote a bunch before submitting it.

Then it didn’t pass the signing.

Feeling depressed for a while, I started over.

I wrote 5 different beginnings, afraid that editors would get annoyed and changed editors 3 times before finally getting a signing. Here I want to thank the editor, Canaan, for giving me a chance.

After the signing, it was a long solo time.

When I wrote 50,000 words, there were only 80 favorites. It is said that at this time, many new books were already being promoted.

So I shamelessly asked the editor about the reading progress and found out that there were only 9 paid readers following.

The urban area is the second volume of the entire starting point, by the way, the whole starting point is called the tomb of the new writers.

And I plunged headlong into the second volume of the new graveyard area.

It is said that there will be a trial promotion at 50,000 words, but I only saw it when I reached 180,000 words, which was the recommended start last Sunday.

After this recommendation, it’s time to put it on the shelves. There’s no more promotions after this.

It’s indeed a bit desolate, but it’s not too discouraging.

Here’s an interesting thing to mention.

It is a tradition in the starting point bar for people to raise funds after their manuscripts are signed. They invite everyone to snatch some starting point coins.

I put the novels that were signed during the same period as mine on the shelf in a folder called “Newbies of the Same Period”.

By the time I’m ready to put it on the shelves, there are 6 books that have already become eunuchs, 4 that have finished in less than 30 chapters, 2 that have started over and are being modified chapter by chapter, and only 3 that are still being serialized normally.

After saying so, does the nickname Newbie Graveyard seem a bit more substantial?

Isn’t it commendable that I’ve managed to keep writing in such circumstances and that things are slowly improving?

Lastly, it is the plan after going on the shelves.

I must admit, I am not the kind of person who can generate electricity for love. Since I started writing novels, I have seen people who have written 500,000 words, 1 million words, or even 2.5 million words without signing, and have no income at all, but are still persistently updating.

I deeply admire them, but I can’t do it.

But I am not a person with high ambitions either. I will not have unrealistic expectations for the first book, like how well it will do and make a name for itself in just one book. It’s not practical.

So my plan is simple:

Firstly: After putting it on the shelf, I will strive to update it. During the 3-month period with full attendance income as a guarantee, I will write the story to over 650,000 words, the more the better.

Secondly: In these three months, work hard to improve the results and reach 500 average subscriptions.

I believe many book friends know that after a new book is on the shelves for 3 months, only an average subscription of 500 will continue to have full attendance, or else it will be gone.

If a web author wants to work in this industry for a long time, then 500 average subscriptions can be said to be the real entry standard.

For me, as long as I reach this goal, I can write this book steadily to the end of the outline.

And for this goal, I still have a certain degree of confidence. When I achieve it, I will come back and celebrate with everyone!

Last but not least, it is time for our customary thank-you!

First of all, I would like to thank:
