Supreme Tamer

Chapter 30 - 30: Bad News, Decisive Battle Comes Early

“You’ve grown quite bold, thinking that after these three months without any constraints, you’re absolutely free!” Cao Yi’s face muscles trembled with anger as he swept his gaze over the young soul pet trainers. The chilling air pressured them, even without any soul pets being summoned, it incited a sense of awe.

“Five people died in the forest last night, including Zhou Shengmo, Tang Xian, and Luo Chen. Humph, your lives are completely under our control; only we have the right to kill you. Yet some dared to disobey our wishes…”

Upon hearing Cao Yi’s words, the faces of all the young soul pet trainers showed a look of terror!

Five people being killed would undoubtedly mean the death of their soul pets too. Not to mention the two nobodies, Zhou Shengmo alone had no equal on this island, let alone the addition of Tang Xian and Luo Chen, two universally recognized top ten experts!

The strength of these three was undoubtedly apparent, but all three were killed outside the island overnight, which was simply incredible!

The executors had the strength to kill these three, but there was absolutely no need for them to do so, nor would they assemble everyone after their deaths to interrogate them for their crimes!

For a while, the young soul pet trainers looked at each other, wondering who had the ability to kill these three individuals!

Ting Yu, who was familiar with this news, was immediately shocked to see Chu Mu, who looked as if he had just come from an epic battle.

She remembered that Chu Mu had said he was going to the forest last night, and this morning this shocking news had spread; this was too much of a coincidence!

Feeling Ting Yu’s gaze, Chu Mu pretended not to know anything and shook his head with an innocent expression.

“Now, one by one, come to the room beside me and summon your soul pets!” Cao Yi coldly ordered, determined to clear up this matter!

If one of these young soul pet trainers was capable of killing five people overnight, it would also mean that they posed a certain threat to the executors. They had to find this person!

The young soul pet trainers were called one by one into the room for questioning. Each of them entered with pale faces, having witnessed the executors’ ruthlessness before. The ones who came out, however, seemed to be relieved, like they had narrowly escaped a disaster.

Soon, it was Chu Mu’s turn, and he entered the room with a calm demeanor.

The man sitting in the chief position was the head of the island’s executors, Cao Yi, and beside him was Gu Lei and red-haired Zeng Ze.

Seeing Chu Mu enter, red-haired Zeng Ze’s corner of his mouth twitched slightly as he whispered to Gu Lei, “This kid’s got some serious luck, not being eaten by the White Nightmare Demon till now.”

“Indeed, strange, but Lord Xia ordered…”

After Cao Yi cast a cold glance at the two of them, signaling them to shut up, he stared at Chu Mu and asked indifferently, “Where did you go last night, and summon your soul pets.”

“My soul pets are severely injured and can’t be summoned right now. I was fighting with some soul pets outside the island last night,” Chu Mu answered.

Cao Yi immediately frowned. The main suspects were naturally those who were not in the camp last night and whose soul pets had no combat power or were injured. Chu Mu’s situation was somewhat consistent.

“Kid, you think you can escape our surveillance by doing whatever you want?! If you dare to speak another half-truth, we’ll throw you into the sea to feed the sharkhunters!!” Cao Yi suddenly stood up, looking like a ferocious beast!

Chu Mu’s heart pounded, wondering if he had left any deadly evidence in the forest!

Almost immediately, Chu Mu, who had noticed Cao Yi’s strange look, realized that Cao Yi was just bluffing, trying to get the culprit to come forward. Chu Mu quickly retreated a few steps and stammered, “I… I didn’t do anything… I really fought with a Hundred-Eyed Palm last night and got injured…”

Seeing Chu Mu’s panicked reaction, Cao Yi’s fierce expression immediately disappeared, and he sat back down in his seat.

“Lord Cao, this kid has always been a loner, and his only soul pet is a Moonlight Fox. It’s impossible for him to have killed those five people,” Zeng Ze whispered to Lord Cao.

“Yes, yes…” Gu Lei said. This ruthless executor wasn’t trying to clear Chu Mu’s name, but rather, they simply thought that interrogating Chu Mu was a waste of time. How could someone with a medium-grade soul pet like Moonlight Fox possibly kill Zhou Shengmo?

In fact, the executors themselves didn’t believe that a single person had done this. They thought it was more likely that several people in a certain group suddenly launched a surprise attack on Zhou Shengmo and the others to increase their chances of survival.

“Get out!” Cao Yi coldly snorted at Chu Mu.

Chu Mu retreated immediately, and as he turned around, his panicked face sank and his eyes became cold and fierce. He vowed silently: Once my strength is strong enough, I will kill you all!

Chu Mu hid his true strength well, and he had not processed the bodies of Zhou Shengmo and the others more than necessary because he believed that the executors would not suspect him.

Soon, all the interrogations had ended, and it was clear that the executors hadn’t found the culprit. Both the Ting Yu and Ge Qing factions had been well behaved last night…

Finally, the executors could only attribute the incident to someone from outside the Nightmare Demon Island. The introduction of this unstable factor also caused the executors to heighten their vigilance and make a new decision.

“An unidentified person has entered the island. In order to avoid any complications, the Life-and-Death Battle will begin tomorrow. The top ten will leave the island with us, and for the rest…”

After the interrogations, Cao Yi announced this decision to everyone.

“Go back to your lairs and rest. Tomorrow, it’s either life or death!” Cao Yi said coldly!

Hearing this news, Chu Mil’s face changed immediately. If the Life-and-Death Battle were brought forward, MO Ye wouldn’t have enough time to recover its combat power!

With only one day left, MO Ye could recover at most about 40% of its strength, and the wounds on its body wouldn’t have healed. In such a situation, it would be extremely difficult to defeat two consecutive opponents and make it into the top ten!

“If it’s earlier, then you’ll live a few days less. How unfortunate, Chu Mu.” A not-so-friendly voice sounded from nearby.

Chu Mu frowned and glanced at Ge Qing, his face turning cold.

If it had been earlier, Chu Mu would have been looking forward to encountering Ge Qing, just so he could deal with this person who had always tried to harm him and not have to look at him with annoyance.

But now, Chu Mu really didn’t want to face this guy. Ge Qing’s 7th-Step Scale Snake was indeed somewhat difficult to deal with..
