Chapter 210: Cousin-in-law
Chapter 210: Cousin-in-law
Now that her life was no longer in danger, the sisters seemed far more relaxed than before.
“Yinyin, how come you’re staying at your own place now? Did you have an argument with Lu Lingche?”
Qiao Yin nodded, “I’m planning to divorce him.”
“What?”
Ye Wan was somewhat shocked. “Didn’t you really like him? From the first time he visited grandma’s house, you were fond of him. What happened?”
Qiao Yin managed to force a smile, “He has another woman now. Search the news and you should know the gist of it.”
“How could he do such a thing!”
Ye Wan, who didn’t usually follow the news, was rather upset and somewhat panicked, “Oh, no, I’ve even talked to him about your past today, and also about your aunt. I urged him to be good to you in the future. To think, he already had someone else in his heart! If only I knew, I wouldn’t have said any of it.”
“It’s okay, cousin. There’s nothing wrong with him knowing.”
Qiao Yin knew that her cousin was just looking out for her, so she didn’t mind, “Cousin, how about you? Is my brother-in-law good to you?”
“He’s quite good. He gives all the money he earns to me. Don’t worry about me, just take good care of yourself.”
Knowing that her cousin was leading a good life eased Qiao Yin’s worries. She glanced at the time and whispered, “Cousin, it’s time for you to go home. An is still very young, he can’t be without you.”
An was Ye Wan’s son, who was just two years old and especially attached to his mother.
Although Ye Wan yearned to see her son, she didn’t want to leave Qiao Yin alone with the burden of taking care of their grandmother.
“Your brother-in-law is at home. He can take care of An. I’ll stay here with you to look after grandma. She loved me dearly when I was young, and now it’s time for me to show my filial duty. Don’t push me to leave, or else I won’t feel comfortable.”
Qiao Yin sighed, realizing that her cousin wanted to show her filial duty, so she shouldn’t insist on her leaving.
It was better to have her cousin around, otherwise, she would feel like crying whenever she saw her grandmother’s condition.
However, as soon as they finished talking, there was a knock on the door.
Qiao Yin, puzzled, went to open the door and saw a man holding a child with tear-streaked face standing there.
“Brother-in-law? An?”
“Qiao Yin, is your sister here? I didn’t know what else to do, An kept crying for his mother. He’s never been away from her for this long, he’s probably not used to it.”
Ye Wan had already heard his voice and hurried out from the bedroom, “An!”
“Mummy!”
An burst into tears.
Ye Wan quickly took the child from him, gently soothing him while complaining a bit, “Yongquan, how could you let the child cry like this? Didn’t you take care of An?”
Fang Yongquan seemed displeased, “How should I, a grown man, know how to care for a kid? Weren’t you the one who always did it in the past? He just wants you, not willing to let me take care of him, so I brought him here.”
“How did you know my cousin’s address?”
“You didn’t reply to my messages, so I asked your dad. He told me.”
Fang Yongquan glanced at Qiao Yin, then apologised with some embarrassment, “Sorry for the sudden intrusion, cousin-in-law. An was crying so badly and I don’t have any experience handling kids, so I arrived unannounced.”
“It’s fine.”
Qiao Yin turned to Ye Wan, “Cousin, you should go home with my brother-in-law. I’m here with grandma. An is still too young. Suddenly being away from you, he must be very unsettled.”
“How could that be? I’ve already promised to stay here and take care of grandma with you.”
Ye Wan shook her head, taking her husband by the hand and walking out, “I’ll have a talk with your brother-in-law, just wait a moment.”
Qiao Yin, watching the door close, stood at the entrance without moving.
Very soon, she could hear her cousin arguing with her brother-in-law outside..
