Undead God: I Can Extract Everything

Chapter 38 - 38: 038 Skill Upgrade-Goblin Tribe

Dean McKenzie has many skills listed on his attribute board at present.

The basic one he started with was [Bone Fang].

He chose to enhance the skill of summoning in [Summon Skeleton].

There’s the universal skill [Appraisal].

Then there’s the [Meditation] skill used to restore mana, and the newly awakened, yet unpracticed [Slow Curse].

And also the once enhanced skill [Bone Shield].

This last one can be ignored since it had been enhanced, and it can be upgraded again when it reaches level 3.

The second one, [Summon Skeleton], can also be temporarily set aside.

After all, the skill has already been enhanced. Enhancing it further would only increase the strength of summoned skeletons or the number of skeletons summoned.

For the former, Dean McKenzie has the Gate of Bone, and for the latter, he has the talent to summon skeletons.

So, there’s no real need to upgrade this skill at the moment, unless Dean has an ample quota for enhancements.

Dean McKenzie has considered that by level 20, if there’s no template improvement, he should still have 2 to 3 enhancement quotas. If the template is improved, then it would be 3 to 4.

Adding the one he currently has…

Dean McKenzie’s number of enhancement quotas could reach 4 to 5!

He could essentially enhance all existing skills, so Dean is not overly concerned.

It’s just a matter of sequence.

“Let’s see how it goes for now. Currently, I’m lacking overall. If all else fails, I’ll just add one skill at a time!

Now, let’s focus on monster hunting!

I’ve only explored approximately a quarter of the Goblin Forest till now. Given the quality of monsters present, who knows, I might come across a bosses with excellent templates!”

As Dean spoke, he found a spot to rest with Doggy Two.

Well, within less than five hours in the Goblin Forest, Dean had rested seven or eight times already.

Every time he rested, the main aim was to recover his mana.

Despite his mana appearing to be 572 points, many times more than before, it still seemed somewhat insufficient.

After all, Dean would deplete two to three hundred mana points just for extraction after each wave of goblins.

This demands Dean to frequently stop and recover his mana.

Currently, Dean had two main methods for mana recovery.

The first was consumption of potions!

Before entering the Goblin Forest, with gritted teeth, Dean spent 30 Silver Coins and reluctantly bought 33 [Mana Potions] (Minor).

Adding to what Dean originally had, he carried close to 50 minor [Mana Potions] into the Goblin Forest.

Although the quantity seemed plentiful, it only totaled around 5000 mana points.

Moreover, a single mana potion, almost 250 ml, couldn’t be consumed entirely at once.

Thus, Dean’s mana recovery heavily relied on potions, supplemented by meditation, and mana recovery items.

It turned out to be pretty effective.

Originally, a mana potion could recover 100 mana points, pure meditation would recover 1 mana point per minute, and equipment could recover around 0.6 mana points per minute.

After being cleverly combined by Dean, his mana recovery rate could reach 190 to 200 points every half an hour.

Moreover, through this process, the proficiency of Dean’s [Meditation] skill was also quickly improving.

When Dean took down the eighth wave of goblins, his Meditation skill had reached 95% proficiency at level 1.

Taking the opportunity, Dean chugged two minor [Mana Potion].

He attempted to boost the [Meditation] skill with the power of the potions!

With the assistance of the two potions, Dean miraculously recovered 350 mana points within half an hour.

In this process, his [Meditation] skill successfully leveled up to 2!

[Ding, your [Meditation] skill has increased to level 2!]

Skill: Meditation

Level: 2

Effect: After entering a meditative state, mana recovery can be speeded up.

Current Mana Recovery Speed: 2 points/minute

The level 2 [Meditation] skill has increased Dean McKenzie’s mana recovery speed twofold.

Now, coupled with the [Mana Potion], Dean’s mana recovery rate can stably reach around 250 every half an hour.

As of now, it seems to be just enough.

However, Dean still felt unsatisfied, “I wonder what it would be like if the Meditation skill was enhanced. Will I eventually have an unlimited mana supply?

Should I give it a try?”

Thinking of unlimited mana, Dean couldn’t help but feel slightly restless.

Just then, a familiar ‘wooh’ sound arose from the forest, drawing Dean’s attention.

It was a sound reminiscent of easy kills.

But as Dean was preparing to reap his reward, he noticed something strange.

“Are those goblins running away?”

Dean clearly saw a group of ten or so goblins frantically rushing past him as if they were fleeing.

They didn’t manage to cover much distance before a barrage of wooden spears pinned down the goblins, resulting in instantaneous death for most of them, leaving only one elite monster alive.

Not long after, another group of larger and smarter dressed goblins emerged from behind the first group.

These goblins simply dragged away the bodies of the previous group, including the one remaining elite monster.

Before the new group left, Dean managed to cast an [Appraisal Skill] and got the attributes of those goblins.

Name: Goblin Militia

Level: 13

Attributes:

Strength: 4, Agility: 4, Physique: 4

Attack: 4 (3)

Defense: 2 (4)

Skill: Goblin Throw(i level)

Equipment: Goblin Special Burlap Clothes, Goblin Special Javelin

“These goblins seem to be quite capable!”

Dean’s eyes sparkled. His intuition tells him he has snared a large fish this time.

Then, without making a sound, he quietly followed the group of goblins.

Dean’s tracking skills were quite good.

He didn’t lose the goblins or get discovered by them all the way.

Twenty minutes later, Dean followed the group of goblins to their destination.

At the venue, Dean saw a sizable goblin tribe.

The tribe was established in a thickly bushed valley, with about dozens of huts made from wood and grass. In the middle surrounded by huts was a square with a huge iron pot hanging in the center.

The goblin militia, dragging the corpses of the other goblins, made their way to the iron pot in the center of the square.

Dean’s attention followed them.

As his gaze landed on the iron pot, his eyes lit up.

He spotted a Black Iron Treasure Chest beside the cast-iron pot, along with an extraordinarily sturdy, muscular goblin….
