The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1154: Afraid or Not Afraid

It was the reason why she initiated conversations with them frequently.

From those conversations, Naela learned a lot of things about or even from them.

Mainly, she learned more about the life inside the human territory as there is necessary basic knowledge, that she must know to operate and use some of the things inside the castle such as the settings in the training chamber that were done in holographic.

Coming from the Supernatural side, living in the castle has been quite a transition for her.

One of the hardest aspects is technology, something really new to her.

Even Gistella, who had been here longer than Naela, had some struggles here and there still.

Since Naela was the one who initiated the conversation—the topics usually revolved around, their problems, and Rex. She never really got the time to ask more about Kyran's past. It only happened once, and Evelyn was hesitating to tell her about Kyran's past.

Because of that, Adhara also decides to save Kyran's story for another time.

In their minds, Naela is like a little sister to them.

She is too pure for something so dark, and that refrained them from telling her Kyran's past.

Or at least, Adhara and Evelyn skipped the parts that they thought were too grim.

Just like Rex's past, Kyran's past was also extremely dark and depressing.

Aside from that, Kyrna's past is also extremely personal, as even Evelyn or Adhara barely had conversations about it with him. In fact—the time Kyran opened up, about his dark past could really be counted on one hand, it happened very rarely.

Knowing that, Naela understands their hesitance.

She also agreed that it would be best to wait for Kyran to open up to her naturally with trust.

But then, a tragedy happened with him disappearing or being kidnapped to be exact.

It didn't help as Kyran was in a coma when he was found.

Due to that—Naela could not slowly build her relationship with Kyran, and ask him about his past directly. She was forced to wait, and when Kyran eventually woke up—another tragedy struck as the battle with the Fifthborn was nearing.

Once again, the chances of her spending time with Kyran were erased.

Unconsciously, those indirect denials and worry build frustrations inside Naela's heart.

And that frustration ended up ruining their relationship even more.

Now that the situation had escalated to this extent, Adhara was forced to give some pointers as the damage might be irreparable. Knowing Kyran's personality, she was not fearful that he would go as far as to annul Naela as his fiance, he would not do that.

Kyran would undoubtedly endure it for the sake of Rex.

But that would make life hell for Naela as Kyran would give her no real attention whatsoever.

Maybe whenever Rex was around, he would act normal.

However, aside from that, Kyran would ignore Naela and never connect with her.

It would be bad if that happened.

And as she got close to Naela, she didn't want that to happen.

On the other hand, listening to Adhara's pointers made Naela gulp harshly.

'I can feel it from Adhara's tone and gaze that Kyran's dark side is really bad... like really bad. I don't know if I could stand and watch while he does his... things, especially to my Elders' In nervousness, Naela's heart waver—she was afraid that she might not be able to succeed.

But realizing that she was scared even before seeing it first-hand, Naela shook her head.

'No, I can do this. I have to do this,' She cheered herself inwardly.

Even though she might be shown a horrendous sight, she needs to persevere as Kyran is her soulmate—the dark nature, is never wrong regarding the matter of the heart. Moreover—she needs to be strong and go with Kyran as her presence there might be a good thing.

Her presence might provide the leeway she wanted for her Elders.

Lowering the chance of Kyran not being as dark as he would if she was not around.

"Do you really believe this would work...?" Naela asked again to make sure.

Adhara nodded firmly in response, "Yes. If I were you, I'd be leaving with an empty stomach"

Upon hearing this, Naela's complexion paled visibly.

However, this made Adhara chuckle and rubbed her back, "I'm joking, don't take it seriously"

"Return to the castle and prepare," Adhara instructed, her tone firm. "I had a feeling now that you brought up the subject—Kyran would be going to the Dark Elf, soon. Don't risk being left behind, wait on the teleportation formation if you have to"

As Adhara said that, she departed, leaving her directive hanging in the air.

She only came to check what was wrong.

Now that it was settled, she needed to go back.

Rex is still chasing after the mutated animal frantically—and she needs to look after him.

It would be bad if he suddenly went berserk out of excitement.

...

Meanwhile, the Dark Elf Kingdom.

Unlike the Elves that were celebrating the triumph against the Fifthborn, the Dark Elves also held a banquet multiple times to honor the victory—but each one was extremely depressing—the atmosphere was not akin to a celebratory party.

Even the people of the kingdom could feel this depressing air.

All of the higher-ups were emanating this air.

Naturally—this source of depression came from the ploy that the newly awakened Elders did on the Luna of the Silverstar Pack, who has now become the Empress of the empire they are subservient.

Back when the news of the Fifthborn's defeat reached the Elders, they were in shock.

A crippling shock that made the edges of their fingers tingle.

Still in an intense silent war against King Jorik and his accomplices, the Elders—mainly those who came from the Diaro, Aldri, and Sanzo noble families, are not participating in the intense battle against the Fifthborn.

None of them sent their own people to help.

From their biased views, going against the Fifthborn was a suicide attempt.

It would be trying to achieve the impossible.

Not a single entity, back in the ancient era was able to do that, and they believed it remained that way. But the impossible did happen as the victory was theirs to grasp, and the Fifthborn fell to the hands of the Alpha of the Silverstar Pack.

An unexpected turn of events which made the three rebelling families pale in fear.

Each one of them realized the gravity of what they had done.

Not only them, but the people also knew what this meant.

Coupled with the rumors, that were spreading around during and after the coronation—many people of the kingdom began pointing their fingers at the three noble families that might spill the death of their entire race for attacking the Empress.

All three noble families were shunned and blamed for the alienation their kingdom received.

At the present moment, Dark Elf guards could be seen running around in groups.

Even though the Second Breath happened—their beloved kingdom, was spared from vicious damage, only suffered cracks in the walls and also some loss of resources that were located in the forest around them.

Other than that, the civilians also helped in rebuilding some of the damaged structures.

It was the very time to work together and recover.

However, amidst the crowd was a dark brown royal chariot that didn't flag any banners.

It strolled along the street silently.

Despite the anonymity of this chariot, the Dark Elves that saw it shot contempt gazes at it.

Naturally, it was the chariot belonging to the Aldri Family—the black tree emblem decorating the side of the chariot, was enough to expose the identity of the person inside. Eventually, it nestled near the towering great tree.

A mansion—not a lavish one, it was a regular but tidy mansion.

Upon stopping, the door of the chariot was opened and a beautiful Dark Elf walked out.

It was Bevryth—she was the one alongside Korvak who orchestrated the attack on Evelyn.

Considering that she was of nobility, it was surprising to see her in such a mansion.

All nobles should reside in the great tree.

Commoners and even low-ranking nobilities, all of their residences outside of the great tree.

But Bevryth stepped out here instead of inside the great tree.

Judging from her colorless complexion with the addition of her eyes that kept looking at the ground as she walked out, and also her dress that didn't seem to be the usual rich and filled with care—it was obvious that the toll of her mistake got to her.

Cursed words and gossip surrounded her.

Even her own family was beginning to blame her for attempting to kidnap Evelyn.

Despite that, she tried to hide it albeit it's not working very well.

Upon seeing her walking to the entrance, the guards open the gate and let her walk inside.

However, before she could go straight inside, one of the guards approached her, and notified her of something through a whisper. And as the guard conveyed the message, her face could be seen drained even more because of this.

Inhaling a deep breath, she walked inside the mansion and pushed open the door.

As the door swung open, she was greeted by a draining sight.

General Theodas was sitting on the sofa, he was waiting for her arrival.

Not even needing to ask, Bevryth already knew what this was about.

"Can you spare me the day, General? I'm in no mood," Bevryth mused, her tone exhausted.

Upon hearing this, General Theodas shook his head.

He leaned his body forward with both hands intertwined together, "I'm here for your answer,"

"I hope that you already have on before something bad happens," he added.

Giving her dark bronze intricate cloak to her maid—Bevryth ignored General Theodas as she was too tired to speak and began ascending the stairs intending to head back to her room—but this made General Theodas stand up, "Dragging this will not do any good for you,"

"King Jorik is doing this to help you, Lady Bevryth—and also to appease the people, because of your mistake. Doing this is a good thing for your family. You might think that leaving this as it is would be fine, but you're wrong, and you have no idea how wrong you are," He added.

Not even stopping, Bevryth replied, "Just like that Werewolf said, it's only the second phase,"

"No need to worry, the Emperor would not do anything," She added nonchalantly.

Remembering what Flunra said, Bevryth takes light of the matter.

Since there are three phases—with Flunra's warning behind the second phase, there was no need for the kingdom to be afraid, as there was still another phase before a heavy penalty. It is going to be fine.

Flunra didn't seem to be lying either, so they should be in the clear.

"The Luna is now Empress, her status experienced an increase," General Theodas rebutted, he was tired of Bevryth's stubbornness. "Other kingdoms knew what you did—and Emperor Rex would not leave your mistake with a simple warning from Lord Flunra. Just listen, this once. It is for your own good. Follow our script, and you might recover from this,"

General Theodas puts a scroll on the table lightly, tapping it so Bevryth knows.

Not even waiting, General Theodas headed to the door.

On the other hand, Bevryth's expression darkened when she heard this, "Cocky bastard!"

"Just know that I am not afraid of the Silverstar Pack—and neither is our family! Even if I have to do something, it would be on my terms, not yours. Until then, you can take that agreement and keep your mouth shut. I am still a blessed noble, you fool! Do you hear me?!" She barked, veins bulging on her neck.

"Let the Emperor come! I'll deal with him myself!" She shouted her last words.

Even though General Theodas was nowhere to be seen again, she was still fuming in anger.

But as she looked down at her hands, she found that they were shaking.

Not because of anger, but out of fear instead.

Gritting her teeth, she went to her room, closing the door behind her loudly.

Bam!
